Government Releases Names of Six Soldiers Killed In Operation Sindoor

Names of six Operation Sindoor heroes finally become public

Government officials have publicly released the identities of six military personnel who died defending the country during Operation Sindoor. Five Indian Army soldiers and one Indian Air Force sergeant died last May during India's intense military retaliation against Pakistan. This marks the first official confirmation of these specific casualties since the four-day conflict concluded.

Tyag Chakra Inscriptions

Authorities plan to permanently engrave the names of these brave men at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.Subedar Major Pawan Kumar, Rifleman Sunil Kumar, Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar, Agniveer Murali Naik, Havildar Sunil Kumar Singh, and Sergeant Surendra Kumarlaid down their lives for the nation. Their names will now grace the bricks of the Tyag Chakra. This circular granite monument is dedicated to honoring every Indian soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice after independence. It ensures their bravery is never forgotten.

Indian forces initiated Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, to quickly avenge the Pahalgam massacre that brutally claimed 26 civilian lives. Operation Sindoor echoes the swift, decisive nature of previous border retaliations, reinforcing India's modern zero-tolerance stance on cross-border terrorism. The brief but fierce conflict involved targeted strikes on terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. This immediately triggered significant aerial engagements, drone warfare, and heavy artillery shelling across the border.

Military leaders deliberately chose the name "Sindoor" to symbolize justice for the widows created by the devastating Pahalgam terror attack. Officials released the names of these six heroes simultaneously with the full roster of soldiers who fell during various 2025 operations. Now, their legacy of courage will inspire future generations at the national capital.
