Government identifies land for Godavarish Mishra Ideal Primary School under new initiative

Bhubaneswar, Ap 25: The state government has taken a significant step to facilitate the construction of Godavarish Mishra Ideal Primary School (GMPV) by earmarking five acres of suitable government land. Dr. Arabinda Padhi, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, has issued a letter to all district collectors instructing the identification of land and its transfer to the School and Mass Education Department.

The Godavarish Mishra Ideal Primary School initiative, launched by the state government, aims to provide quality education at the Gram Panchayat level. In the first phase, 118 schools were selected, with the state-level foundation-laying ceremony held on January 7, 2026. In the second phase, another 212 schools have been approved by the government. Future phases will include additional Gram Panchayats under the scheme.

In this context, district-level officials of the School and Mass Education Department have been directed to coordinate and identify suitable government land for the construction of schools. Once the competent authority submits the acquisition forms, immediate action will be taken to transfer the identified land to the department for school construction.
