Bhubaneswar, Jul 27: Odisha's remarkable journey in India's television reality show landscape has reached another historic milestone with Jyotirmayee Nayak lifting the coveted Indian Idol Season 16 trophy. Her victory has not only earned her national recognition but has also made her the first Odia singer to win the flagship Indian Idol title, adding another glorious chapter to the state's rich legacy of talent on national television.

Hailing from Odisha, Jyotirmayee captivated audiences throughout the competition with her soulful voice, versatility, and powerful stage presence. In the grand finale, she outperformed five finalists, including strong contenders Tanisk Shukla and Manraj Veer Singh, to emerge as the champion. Along with the prestigious trophy, she received a cash prize of ₹20 lakh, sparking celebrations across the state.

While Jyotirmayee's triumph is historic, she joins a distinguished list of Odia artists who have left an indelible mark on national reality television over the years.

Ananya Sritam Nanda

Barnali Hota
