Boudh, July 21: The Director General of Police (DGP) has suspended Susmita Magar, the former Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Manamunda Police Station in Odisha's Boudh district, over allegations of misconduct, misuse of official position, and alleged links to the illegal cannabis trade.

The action follows allegations that Magar had indirect connections with cannabis traffickers operating in the Manamunda police station jurisdiction. She was also accused of dereliction of duty and abusing her official position.

Following the allegations, Magar was first transferred from Manamunda Police Station to the Boudh District Police Headquarters pending further inquiry.

After reviewing the matter, the DGP ordered her suspension, citing the seriousness of the allegations and the findings related to the misuse of her official position.

The suspension is being viewed as part of the police department's efforts to uphold accountability, transparency, and discipline within the force.
