Sambalpur, Ap 24: The Sambalpur Police have arrested five individuals for allegedly circulating an obscene video involving a Sankirtan singer, officials said on Thursday.

The accused have been identified as Raja Badhei, Rabindriya Seth, Sushanta Bagh, Sambhu Prasad Pradhan from Sambalpur district, and Deepak Mahar from Subarnapur district. Police said the group shared a video showing intimate moments of the young woman, which went viral on social media.

A case was registered at the Cyber Crime and Economic Offences Police Station, and the accused were booked under Sections 78, 79, 319(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and Sections 67 and 67(A) of the Information Technology Act.

Following the arrests, the five were forwarded to court. Authorities also seized five mobile phones allegedly used to record and share the video.

Police stated that a detailed investigation is ongoing to uncover how the video was recorded, circulated, and to identify any other persons involved.
