Nabarangpur, July 12: Three members of a family, including two young children, lost their lives and another child was critically injured after a truck allegedly collided with their motorcycle near Deobharandi village in Raighar block of Odisha's Nabarangpur district on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Babulal Gond and his two sons, Pradeep Gond (3) and Tushar Gond (6). His eldest son, aged 10, sustained severe injuries in the accident. He was first taken to Hatabharandi Community Health Centre and later referred to Umarkot Sub-Divisional Hospital for advanced treatment.

According to reports, Babulal was travelling with his three sons on a motorcycle along the Raighar–Kundei State Highway when a truck heading towards Kundei allegedly rammed into their vehicle. The collision was so forceful that Babulal and his two younger sons died at the scene.

Witnesses said the motorcycle became trapped beneath the truck and was dragged for a considerable distance, underscoring the intensity of the crash. The incident drew local residents to the spot, who immediately alerted the police.
