Dry Spell Continues as Winter Chills Hold Ground in Odisha
Residents across Odisha can expect the current dry spell to continue uninterrupted. The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted that dry weather will prevail over all districts of the state for the next seven days, valid up to January 29, 2026. There are no major weather warnings issued for the week, offering a stable but chilly end to January.
Temperature Trends
While days remain sunny, nights continue to be crisp. The weather department indicates there will be no large change in the minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next 4 to 5 days across the state.
In the last 24 hours, Bhubaneswar recorded the highest maximum temperature in the plains at 32.3°C, while the night temperature settled at 14.0°C. Jharsuguda emerged as the coldest spot in the plains, recording a low of 9.3°C. In the hill stations, G. Udayagiri shivered at 6.2°C, marking the lowest minimum temperature in the region. Travelers in these areas, particularly near Khordha and Cuttack, are advised to drive carefully during morning hours as visibility drops.
