Bhadrak, June 10: A diesel shortage has been reported at several petrol pumps along National Highway-16 passing through Bhadrak, Balasore and Jajpur districts, causing inconvenience to motorists and transport operators.

According to reports, the problem has persisted since Wednesday evening, with many fuel stations running out of diesel stock. As a result, several heavy vehicles, including trucks and commercial transport carriers, have been stranded at different locations along the highway.

Petrol pump owners attributed the shortage to an inadequate supply of diesel from oil depots. They said the available stock was exhausted due to limited replenishment, leading to disruptions in fuel distribution.

While diesel remains unavailable at many outlets, petrol pump operators clarified that petrol stocks are currently sufficient and continue to be supplied without interruption.

The diesel shortage has raised concerns among transporters and drivers, who are facing delays in their journeys. Authorities and fuel dealers are expected to take steps to restore normal diesel supplies at the earliest.
