Baripada, June 5: In a unique celebration highlighting the importance of agriculture, Manas Kumar Parida chose to make a strong statement in support of farmers and modern farming practices during his wedding ceremony. His unconventional wedding procession, featuring a flower-decorated tractor instead of a traditional vehicle, drew large crowds and widespread attention.
Parida, who works as a DEO at Nuasahi Degree College, remains deeply involved in agriculture despite his professional commitments. Whenever time permits, he actively engages in farming and advocates the adoption of modern agricultural technologies to boost productivity and create self-employment opportunities.
To convey his message that agriculture is the foundation of society and that societal progress depends on the development of the farming sector, the groom arrived at the bride’s residence on a tractor lavishly adorned with flowers. Accompanied by a grand wedding procession, the unique spectacle became the highlight of the event.
The tractor decoration was made possible through the efforts of Parida’s friends and his uncle, Ashirbad Behera, owner of Phulghar in Nuasahi. Along with his children, Behera worked tirelessly for four days to transform the tractor into a floral masterpiece, making the wedding both memorable and meaningful.
The initiative has been widely appreciated by locals, who viewed it as a creative tribute to farmers and a call for greater adoption of modern agricultural practices.
