Bhubaneswar, March 27: On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami today, a wave of devotion swept across Odisha as thousands of devotees thronged temples dedicated to Lord Rama to celebrate his divine birth. Since early morning, temples have been echoing with chants of “Jai Shri Ram,” devotional songs, and the ringing of bells, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.

In the capital city Bhubaneswar, huge crowds have gathered at the prominent Ram Mandir. Devotees, including women and children, were seen standing in long queues to have a glimpse of the deity. The temple has been beautifully decorated with flowers and lights, while special rituals like Mangal Aarti, Yajna, and continuous recitations from the Ramayana are being conducted.

Many devotees are observing fasts and offering fruits, sweets, and prasad to Lord Rama, praying for peace, prosperity, and well-being of their families. The festive spirit is clearly visible across the city as well as in other parts of the state.

Ram Navami, celebrated on the ninth day of the Chaitra month, marks the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He was born in Ayodhya to King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya, as described in the Ramayana by sage Valmiki. His life symbolizes the triumph of truth and righteousness over evil, especially through his victory over Ravana.

Revered as Maryada Purushottam, Lord Rama stands as an eternal symbol of ideal conduct, duty, and virtue. His teachings continue to inspire millions to walk on the path of dharma.

From cities to villages across Odisha, Ram Navami is being celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion, reflecting the state’s rich spiritual heritage and deep-rooted faith.
