Bhubaneswar, July 6: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday announced that Brahmapur Railway Station will be transformed into a world-class railway station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at an estimated cost of around ₹300 crore.
Speaking at the launch of the new Brahmapur–Udhna (Surat) train service in Brahmapur, the Minister said the redeveloped station will be equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities, modern architectural design, enhanced accessibility, and seamless multimodal connectivity. He said the project aims to make Brahmapur Railway Station a landmark gateway to southern Odisha.
Vaishnaw also assured that he would visit Brahmapur again to participate in the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the ambitious redevelopment project. He reiterated the Central Government's commitment to strengthening railway infrastructure and improving passenger facilities across the region.
