Manipur’s vibrant artistic heritage arrives in Bhubaneswar for weeklong display.
Thirty acclaimed artists from Manipur are currently showcasing their creative prowess at the Rashtriya Lalit Kala Kendra in Kharavela Nagar. This 31st annual group exhibition, organised by the Manipur State Kala Akademi, features a sophisticated blend of paintings, sculptures, and print artworks. Secretary of the Rashtriya Lalit Kala Kendra, Ramakrishna Vedala, inaugurated the event, emphasising how artistic expression serves as a vital medium for global peace.
Prominent figures including Sunanda Thokchom, Ramahari Jena, and Dr. Panchanan Samal gathered to celebrate this cross-state creative dialogue. This exhibition acts as a bridge between the Northeast and Eastern India, echoing the long-standing cultural ties shared between the classical dance and craft traditions of Manipur and Odisha.
Public viewing remains open until April 30, providing a rare opportunity for local residents to engage with the unique aesthetics of Imphal's elite art community. Visitors can explore various mediums that reflect both contemporary struggles and traditional beauty.
