Balugaon, Ap 16: Balugaon town in Khordha district is set to host the inaugural Chilika Book Fair from April 24 to April 28, 2026. The five-day event will take place on the scenic premises of Balugaon College, located on the banks of Chilika Lake.
A preparatory meeting for the fair was chaired by Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan at his residence, with members of the Cuttack and Bhubaneswar Publishers’ Association in attendance. The publishers confirmed their participation and offered suggestions to ensure the success of the event.
Around 80 stalls by reputed publishers from across Odisha will showcase a wide variety of books during the fair. In addition, several food stalls will be set up to cater to visitors.
Deputy Chief Minister Prabhat Tripathy and Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan are scheduled to inaugurate the fair on April 24.
Organizers hope the event will foster a reading culture, provide a unique literary platform near the picturesque Chilika Lake, and attract book lovers, students, and the general public from across the region.
