βββββββNew Delhi, July 6: Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth paid a courtesy call on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday. He was accompanied by his wife, Komal Seth, during the meeting.
The President's Office shared photographs of the interaction on social media, noting that the newly appointed Army Chief and his spouse met the President at her official residence in New Delhi.
General Seth assumed office as the Chief of the Army Staff on June 30, succeeding General Upendra Dwivedi. A highly decorated officer with decades of distinguished military service, he brings extensive operational and leadership experience to the Indian Army's highest post.
Over the course of his career, General Seth has held several key command and staff appointments. He is among the select group of senior Army officers to have commanded two operational Army commands along India's western frontier, underscoring his expertise in strategic planning and operational leadership.
His appointment comes at a significant time as the Indian Army continues to prioritise operational readiness, force modernisation, and enhanced border security in response to evolving regional security challenges.
The meeting with President Murmu is among General Seth's first official engagements since taking over as the Army Chief, marking the beginning of his tenure in the country's top military leadership role.
