Bhubaneswar, June 16: A day after a tragic road accident near Sainik School Square claimed three lives, another serious mishap was reported in the same area on Tuesday.
According to preliminary reports, a couple travelling on a scooter was hit by a speeding truck near the Dasaraja Temple close to Sainik School. The accident occurred while the duo was on their way to their destination.
The impact of the collision left both the husband and wife critically injured. Locals rushed to their aid and they were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The latest incident comes close on the heels of a horrific accident that took place late Monday night near Sainik School Colony, where three persons lost their lives and another sustained serious injuries.
On receiving information about the fresh accident, Maitri Vihar police reached the spot and launched an investigation. Efforts are underway to identify and seize the vehicle involved in the crash. Police are examining the circumstances that led to the accident and further investigation is in progress.
