After a six-month hiatus, the donation boxes of Maa Majhigharani Temple were opened, revealing a staggering sum of Rs 1.4 crore, along with gold, silver, and foreign currencies.

Rayagada, Jan 19: After a six-month hiatus, the donation boxes of Maa Majhigharani Temple were opened, revealing a staggering sum of Rs 1.4 crore, along with gold, silver, and foreign currencies.

The count, which took over eight hours, was carried out with utmost care and security. The process involved representatives from the Endowment Department, Rayagada district administration, and members of the temple management committee.

Over 250 volunteers, including students and members of various organizations, participated in the counting, which started at 9 am on Sunday.

The collected funds will be deposited into the Utkal Grameen Bank, and the interest generated will be used for the development and improvement of temple facilities.
