Abhishek Sharma Smashes 14 Ball Fifty As India Beats New Zealand To Seal Series Victory In Guwahati

India dominates New Zealand to secure eleventh straight series win

India has extended its dominance in the shortest format of the game, securing a massive victory against New Zealand in the third T20I at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. With this win, the Men in Blue have taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series, marking their 11th consecutive series or tournament triumph.

While the bowling unit set the tone, the night belonged to the explosive batting of Abhishek Sharma.

Abhishek’s Fireworks Light Up Guwahati

Chasing a modest target of 154, India wasted no time. Despite losing Sanju Samson for a golden duck early on, the counter-attack was swift and brutal. Abhishek Sharma produced a magical innings, blasting a half-century in just 14 balls. This knock now stands as the second-fastest fifty by an Indian in men’s T20 Internationals.

New Zealand bowlers tried to cramp him for room, but Abhishek treated the local crowd to a spectacle of clean hitting. He remained unbeaten on 68, dismantling the Kiwi attack with ease. He found solid support from skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who returned to form with a stylish 57 not out off 26 balls. Ishan Kishan also contributed a handy 28, helping India chase down the target with ten overs to spare.

Bumrah and Bishnoi Stifle the Kiwis

Earlier in the evening, the Indian bowlers justified the decision to field first. Returning to the side, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah looked lethal, claiming 3 wickets for just 17 runs. He was perfectly complemented by spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who took 2 wickets for 18 runs.

Harshit Rana and Hardik Pandya also chipped in, ensuring New Zealand never gathered momentum. Despite a fighting 48 from Glenn Phillips, the visitors were restricted to a below-par 153 for 9.

This victory showcases India's incredible depth, as match-winners like Abhishek and Rana - who are currently outside the first-choice XI - continue to perform at the highest level. As the team prepares to defend their world title at home, this 3-0 lead serves as a strong warning to international rivals.
