Angul, July 21: At least 30 passengers were injured, one of them critically, after an Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus overturned near Burukuna Chhak under Samal police station limits in Angul district on Monday.
The bus, carrying around 40 passengers, was en route from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.
Police said one passenger suffered a traumatic amputation of the left leg in the accident, while several others sustained serious injuries.
All the injured were initially rushed to Khamar Community Health Centre for treatment. Those requiring advanced medical care were later referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, Samal police said.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
