Bhubaneswar: Altogether 278 athletics including 55 athletes from 12 different institutions will participate in the two-day long 1st National indoor Athletics Championship at Kalinga Stadium here from 24th March 2026.
Total 21 States and 12 different institutions will join the first Indoor meet. A 33-member the host contingent including 13 women athletes will fight for the honour.
The men’s athletes will take part in the 60m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 60m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault and Shot put events. Similarly, U-20 men will have 60m, 400m, 800m, 3000m, high jump, Long Jump and Shot Put events.
The women’s will participate in Women’s: 60m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 60m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault and Shot Put events, while U-20 Women will have 60m, 400m, 3000m, high jump, Long Jump and Shot Put events.
“The Odisha has a reputation of successfully hosting many national and international events. The Odisha Government created the first international standard indoor Athletics Stadium in our country. Such facilities will help our athletes to train in all-weather throughout the year” said Athletic Federation of India president Bahadur Singh Sagoo.
