Koraput, April 11: At least two people were killed and more than 20 others were critically injured after an Odisha State Road Transport Corporation bus fell off a ghat road at Sunki Ghat in Koraput in the early hours of Saturday.

According to reports, the bus was travelling from Bhawanipatna to Visakhapatnam when the mishap occurred around 3 AM. The vehicle allegedly collided with a truck at the second bend of the ghat road before losing control and plunging nearly 50 feet down the slope.

Following the accident, rescue teams rushed to the spot and evacuated the injured passengers. They were initially admitted to a hospital in Pottangi. As the condition of some victims worsened, two were shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Koraput.

Police have reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
