Bhubaneswar, Dec 8: The Puri Jagannath Temple Administration has received at least Rs 113 crore as donations during last three years.
Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan informed it Saturday in the Odisha Assembly.
In a statement presented in the house, Harichandan outlined that from 2021 to 2024, the temple received donations amounting to Rs 113, 02, 55, 889 from diverse sources.
The temple credited Rs 6,83,31,961 through bank accounts in 2021-22, the amount increased to Rs 30,72,27,216 in 2022-23. It was Rs 22,24,39,918 in 2023-24.
The amounts of donations from other sources reached Rs 2,25,31,497 in 2021-22, Rs 4,62,00,343 in 2022-23 and Rs 5,73,57,701 in 2023-24.
Similarly, the contributions from the ‘hundis’ (donation boxes) alone, the temple received Rs 8,23,13,127 in the year 2021-22. Similarly, the 12th century shrine received donations of Rs 15,46,17,152 in 2022-23 and Rs 16,92,36,974 in 2023-24, the statement read.
