Bhubaneswar: Normal life in the millennium city Cuttack has been severely hit due to incessant rains occurring for the last 24 hours.
Water is flowing above knee-deep height in all low-lying areas in the city. People have not been able to come outside as water has gushed into their houses.
Severity of inundation is known from the fact that Cuttack received a record quantum of 133 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours. As many as 241 pump sets have been put into service to gush out water from the low-lying areas. If required, help of the Fire Services would be sought, said the city Mayor.
