Bhubaneswar, May 22: A joint operation by Nandankanan and Chandaka police led to the seizure of illegally transported sand in Kalyanpur, Balighat, under Bhubaneswar Tehsil. Several vehicles involved in the transport were seized on the spot.

Authorities said the sand owners were violating government regulations by transporting sand illegally. Earlier, the administration had imposed a ban on the transportation of illegal sand in the area.

Bhubaneswar Zone-6 ACP, along with police forces from Nandankanan and Chandaka, were present at the site to supervise the operation.

The action comes as part of ongoing efforts to curb unlawful sand mining and ensure compliance with government rules.
