Illegal retrenchment: VIMSAR authorities pay compensation to the victims

Sambalpur, Jan 27: Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) authorities on Thursday, paid compensation to three employees who were illegally retrenched. In pursuance of the Orissa High Court’s order, the retrenched employees have been compensated with Rs 50,000 each. Sources said the VIMSAR authorities have retrenched three employees on the basis of irregular appointments. Praying justice, the retrenched ones knocked the Orissa High Court praying legitimate compensation to them. Hearing the case, the Court had asked to pay due compensation to the petitioners. Acting on it, the authorities filed an appeal seeking a stay. However, the Court rejected the pleas on January 21. At the same time, the Court passed orders to compensate the three retrenched staffers before the next hearing.
