Hundred feet high Tricolour unfurls in Jammu Kashmir

New Delhi, Aug 10:The government of Jammu and Kashmir has installed a 100-feet high Tricolour at the historic Hari Parbat fort that lies on the west of Dal Lake in Srinagar on Tuesday. The National Flag with dimension 36ft x 24 ft was unfurled in the morning on Kashmir valley widely known as Kooh-e-Maran. Earlier, the Flag Foundation of India had proposed to hoist a flag here. The forum sought all the necessary logistic support from the Divisional Administration as well as from the stakeholders. Subsequently, the Archaeological Survey of India, UT of J&K, Forest Department, Airport Authority of India and Tourism Department assisted the foundation for the project. Meanwhile, the Indian Army in sponsorship with the Solar Industries India Ltd. erected the Indian National Flag at the destination. Notably, Hari Parbat Fort is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and still stands impressive with old apartments and tall pillars. Hari Parbat provides a top view of the Makhdoom Sahib shrine.
