Huge quantity of beef seized from Bhubaneswar outskirts

Balipatna, Jan 26: Balipatna police on Tuesday seized over 20 quintal beef from Saheb Nagar slum under its jurisdiction.
Police had received several complaints regarding cow slaughtering in the area.
Locals and members of Bajrang Dal, a Hindu outfit, alerted the police about beef smuggling in the area.
Police conducted a raid in the slum and seized over 20 quintal beef stashed in 30 packets inside a house.
Police arrested Firoz Khan alias Japani in this connection who later confessed that he was planning to smuggle beef of six cows.
Later, locals and police dug a pit and buried the beef on the outskirts of the village.
