House Committee of Odisha Assembly to visit Kotia, other disputed border villages

Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: The House Committee of Odisha Assembly will visit villages along Odisha - Chhatisgarh-Andhra Pradesh border soon to expedite developmental activities there..  The  House Committee will visit Kotia village and other disputed area along the border to make an on the spot study. After studying different aspects on the issue they will submit their report to the Assembly.  In compliance with the order of the Supreme Court, Odisha state government is going to redress the border dispute on  a war footing .  Speaker of Odisha Assembly, Dr Suryanarayan Patro convened a meeting of the House Committee . Deputy Speaker Rajnikant Singh, Revenue Minister Sudam Chandra Marandi, School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash, Opposition  Chief Whip Mohan Majhi, MLA members Kishore Mohanty, Bhupindar Singh,Amar Prasad Satpathy,Ananta Das, Ashwini Patra, Aditya Madhi and Rajkishore Das along with Assembly Secretary Dasarathy Satapathy attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed actions taken at the previous meeting and the Speaker asked the House Committee to seek regular status report from the district administration concerned. Even he sought report from the Revenue Division Commissioner and the Chief Secretary to chalk out a detailed plan of action on the matter. Secretaries of Revenue, Law, Panchayatiraj and Home departments will take necessary steps on the matter. They will recommend all developmental aproposals in and around 5 kilometres from the bordering villages. In the mean time basic amenities like education, health, communication and other welfare works to be beefed up, Dr Patro added.
