Bhubaneswar, Mar 13: The Odisha Assembly today could not function as Opposition BJP and Congress members created ruckus in the House shouting slogans as soon as the House met this morning. They stormed the well of the House shouting against the government for its failure to purchase the paddy stock of the farmers lying in the mandis despite the assurance of the minister earlier. Unable to run the House amid Opposition uproar Speaker Dr Surya Narayan Patro adjourned the proceedings till 11. 30 am. As soon as the House met today, Opposition BJP and Congress MLAs stormed the well of the House shouting slogans against the government repeating their slogans against the ruling party. The irate members also tried to climb the Speaker’s podium to disrupt the proceedings. As normalcy could not be restored after resumption of the Assembly, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings till 4 pm.
