Bhubaneswar: The third day of the Odisha Assembly’s Budget session was adjourned till 11.40 am today amid pandemonium by opposition members.
The day began with an obituary reference to Aska Lok Sabha member Ladu Kishore Swain, who passed away on Tuesday night, following which the opposition Congress and BJP members rushed to the Well of the House, shouting slogans against the BJD Government.
The BJD too countered them raising the special category state status demand.
While the BJP came down heavily on the Government over the Remuna land bank scam, Congress members targeted the treasury bench over precarious conditions of farmers and also the issue of farm loan waiver.
To counter the opposition parties, the treasury bench members raised the issue of special category.
Unable to run the proceedings, Speaker Pradip Amat adjourned the House for an hour till 11.40 am.
