Bhubaneswar, Jan 18: The hospitalisation rate and oxygen requirements are comparatively low in the current wave of Covid-19, informed Odisha Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra on Tuesday.
“There is a sufficient amount of oxygen and drugs available with the State Government. The hospitalisation rate and oxygen requirements are comparatively low in this current Covid wave. The occupancy rate is 9% in general beds, 15% in ICU, 5 to 6% in Ventilator, while the admission of paediatric cases are very low”, said Mohapatra.
Mohapatra further said, “Currently the daily Covid-19 cases in Odisha are between 10,000 to 11,000. The trend can be detected only after 10 to 15 days. One cannot predict the rise or fall in cases until the trend is detected”.
Mohapatra also advised people not to use antibiotics and other drugs without consultation with the doctors. Earlier the health officials have also advised that if any person shows symptoms like cough, cold and fever, they should isolate themselves and should take necessary precautions.
