Bhubaneswar, May 16: Home delivery of liquor in Khordha district will begin from Monday. The district administration has issued an order to this effect.
As per the order, liquor shops can start home delivery of liquor through delivery boys and food aggregators from Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM. However, no shop is allowed to conduct counter sale or serve liquor in their premises. The shops will continue to remain closed during weekend shutdown.
One can place his/ her order from osbc.co.in and the consignment will reach their address within two hours.
Besides, the Excise department will allow consumers to order liquor through food delivering App Zomato and Swiggy with extra delivery charges like previous year.
The outlets can levy delivery charges of Rs 100 for orders up to Rs 1,000 and thereafter Rs 25 for every additional Rs 500 order value.
This part, the shops will prominently display their phone/mobile/Whatsapp numbers/Email ID/UPI details for receiving the orders. The orders for home delivery of liquor can be received by the retailer verbally over phone or through SMS, WhatsApp. The rates of delivery charges should not exceed the prescribed amount as per the government guidelines.
