Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: The Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar received a hoax bomb threat call on Thursday, prompting a heightened security response.
The authorities swiftly implemented increased security measures and conducted thorough searches of flights and passengers.
The bomb disposal squad, along with sniffer dogs, was deployed to ensure safety at the airport.
Bhubaneswar Airport director Prasanna Pradhan said all necessary protocols were followed, and the threat was ultimately deemed a hoax, having originated from a post on social media.
"It was not a bomb threat call; it was a hoax received via Twitter," Pradhan confirmed.
