Bhubaneswar, April 9: Historians of Sambalpur have discovered Stone Era Civilization in Bargarh. A research team from Department of History, Sambalpur University found remnants of Human civilization from Tarajanga village under Bargarh district. The elements have been proved to be 65 thousand years old. Historian Professor Dr. Pradip Kumar Behera said a team of researchers in the aegis of the Department of History, Sambalpur University undertook excavation work at Tarajanga village under the Valley of the Danta river along Debrigarh mountain range six years ago. In the mean time, the team found a country rolling bar, ancient stone grinder and a crushing pad made of raw iron. Later, the specimen was scientifically examined in Palaeolithic Research Institute, Pune and Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences, Lucknow and found to be belonging to the Stone Age.
