Cuttack, July 17: The High Court has directed the State Government to take a decision on a petitioner’s representation regarding the delay in release of pension and other retirement benefits. The court instructed the concerned departmental authorities to consider a fresh memorandum submitted by the petitioner, provide a reasoned order, and communicate the decision within 10 days.
The direction was issued by Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra while hearing a petition filed by Tushar Kanta Mohanty.
According to the petition, Mohanty had served for 35 years without interruption but was denied pension and other post-retirement benefits after superannuation. Despite making repeated representations before the departmental authorities, no action was taken on his claim.
Aggrieved by the delay, Mohanty approached the High Court seeking directions for the release of his pension and other retirement dues. After hearing the matter, the court disposed of the petition with directions to the authorities to examine his representation and take an appropriate decision in accordance with law.
