Heroin worth Rs 65 crore seized in Bengal, six including 2 from Odisha arrested

Bhubaneswar, Jan 10: The STF West Bengal in a three day-long operation busted an inter-state racket involved in the manufacturing and distribution of heroin. A total of 6 persons have been arrested out of which two are from West Bengal, two are from Odisha and 2 are from Manipur. The two accused from Odisha have been identified as Irshad Khan (28) and Sk Rashid (26), both residents of Balasore district. The racketeers used to procure raw material from Manipur, which was processed in a house at Sripally, under Bardhman Sadar PS of Purba Bardhman district and processed heroin used to be supplied to various parts in West Bengal and Odisha. During the operation a total of 13 kilograms of processed heroin having an estimated cost of Rs 65 crore, cash of Rs 20.10 lakh, crude heroin and other chemical ingredients used for processing of heroin. Police said that one of the accused is an expert in heroin processing.
