Bhubaneswar, October 17: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha from October 23-25 due to the influence of a low-pressure area forming over the central Bay of Bengal.
Manorama Mohanty, Director of IMD Bhubaneswar, stated that a cyclonic circulation is expected to form over the North Andaman Sea around October 20, which may intensify and cause rainfall in Odisha.
However, it's too early to predict the formation of a cyclone, and the system will be monitored closely for updates, said Mohanty, Director of IMD Bhubaneswar,
Simultaneously, a depression over the Bay of Bengal also affected the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, leading to heavy rainfall in those areas.
