Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: While innovations in smart kitchens in domestic residences and urbanized apartments have been integral parts of modern living, adds-on to the equipment in the food-factories have been the call of time, to address worries of life and manual labor of the ever running denizens, inhabitating in hustle and bustle of cities.

May it be a smart juicer-to-AI-compatible airfryer or micro oven, all systematically installed beneath an eco-friendly- chimney in a 5G smart kitchen, whatever domestic or commercial, they serve the housewives and Masterchefs with saving their time and labor in many ways.

So, the heavy-duty Chapati Making machine brings ease and convenience for the chefs while sweat for pulping wheat flour, rolling them and frying them in two different exposures in fire, that need extra time and tiring effort.

Massive Chapati rolling machine is now an innovative facility either prevalently utilized in jointly living homes, busy hostels and high-rated hotels, to cater to the home establishments and hoteliers, to meet their daily demands of chapati (Roti), the Indian flatbread prepared from wholesome wheat flour, which is the best staple diet in Indian dishes.

Among other culinary establishments and other modern facilities in food-factories seen in Odisha’s Capital City, one Chapati Making unit has been functioning in the Khandagiri area in Bhubaneswar.

The miniature food factory that operates in a small, about 4X5 feet asbestos- roofed room at the Jagamara village, a few meters away from the TPCODL Fuse Call center, has now been a destination of the foodies to collect fresh, hot automatically-baked rotis from it.

Ranjan Das, a new enterpreneour to this smart-baking business has initiated the venture in a first, at his residence a few months ago. He has set the Chapati baking machine in a small room, preferably managed on the veranda. Here, he has installed a handy electric and gas (Duo) run baking machine that bakes over 800 flatbreads per hour.

Underlining the demand of rotis by locals and the resources available in his unit, Das said he was almost utilizing  at least 30 kg of wheat floor initially which has risen to many folds in a few months.

Our facility is producing over 4,000 chapatis on a daily basis whereas it increases in occasions and special festivities. Especially, our unit is now a popular flatbread supplier in the city to provide with hot and healthy chapattis to the bigger residential colonies and populated mansions, as per their demand. Apart from it, daily runners visit to the counter wherein they can have hot chapaties and mixed dalfry (Dalama) with a subsidized price.

While talking about the viability and productivity of the unit, Das said that a piece of chapati fetches Rs 2.5 while the unit produces at least 4000 pieces per day, within 6-10PM.

Setting aside, the raw material, power consumption, production cost and daily wages, a profit of Rs 4000-5000 becomes the reward for a day, if it’s a good day, he added.

Ramesh Panigrahi, a customer who very often visits the hot chapati-sale hub to collect the staple with a plate full of country- fied dalama said that, he has been a regular customer of the entrepreneur.

“I used to visit the counter to collect roties for my family in a bid to find some space for my spouse. Similarly, we order it from the counter for our friends, relatives and guests at need”, he added.

At a time when labour and time intensive Tandoori Bhatis for baking tandoori roties have been almost kept away from today’s kitchens and renowned hotels due to lack of operators and for addressing the hazardous pollution, chapati manufacturing units in the urban areas, are seeing a promising future in the field of culinary business, said Masterchef India Finalist, YouTuber & proprietor ‘Deshii By Smrutishree’ Hotel Bhubaneswar.
