HC readies for physical, virtual hearing from Feb 15, 4 lawyers and client allowed into the court at a time

Cuttack, Feb 12: The Orissa High Court is going for both physical and virtual hearing from February 15. The Registrar has issued standard operation procedure (SOP) for usual operation of the court. As per the SOP, lawyers and clients can opt physical or virtual hearing since February 15. They can appear through video conferences in lieu of physical appearance. All arrangements have been made available to hear cases both physically and virtually. However, adequate sanitization, social distance will be maintained within the court premises. Similarly, the new SOP stresses on crowd management system inside the court premises. Lawyers have been asked to operate court proceedings with optimal staff of their office. Only four advocates and essential clients are allowed into the court at a time. All concerned officials are asked to vacate the court immediately after their session is over.
