Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court Bar Association today dismissed three lawyers, including two office bearers of the ruling-BJD’s Legal Font.
BJD Legal Front convenor Milan Kanungo, advisor Asim Amitabh and former HC Bar Association vice-president Banshidhar Satpathy dismissed for allegedly sabotaging the ongoing lawyers’ agitation.
Besides, the Bar Association also served a show-cause notice to Odisha Bar Council chairperson, Tahali Mohanty.
This was informed by the Orissa High Court Bar Association secretary Satyabrat Mohanty.
Mohanty said the decision was taken at the executive and general body meeting.
“It was unanimously decided at the executive council meeting to dismiss three lawyers for trying to sabotage lawyer agitation,” said Mohanty.
The lawyers are on strike for the last 65 days demanding immediate arrest of the police personnel involved in the attack on one of our colleagues.
Mohanty further informed that their cease-work agitation will continue till November 9 as the hearing on the case will be conducted on the same day.
