Mumbai, Nov 16: The Mumbai Customs Department seized two wrist watches of renowned cricketer Hardik Pandya worth Rs 5 crore on Monday morning.
The incident occurred when the cricketer was returning home from Dubai after T20 World Cup.
According to the sources, the Customs Department officials found Hardik in possession of the two wrist watches. However, Pandya did not have the bill receipt of the luxury watches, for which the valuables were seized.
Meanwhile, Pandya himself refuted all the claims and said that the cost of the watch was approximately Rs 1.5 crore.
Taking to twitter, Pandya said that he voluntarily went to Mumbai airport customs counter to declare the items brought by him and he was ready to pay whatever duties that needed to be paid.
Worth mentioning, last year, Hardik’s brother, cricketer Krunal Pandya, was also held at the Mumbai International Airport over allegedly possessing undisclosed gold and other valuables worth Rs 1 crore.
