Mumbai, May 4: A special court on Wednesday allowed conditional bail to independent MP Navneet Rana and her MLA husband Ravi Rana, who were arrested in the ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ recital case.
The Rana couple was arrested on April 23 and produced before a holiday court the next day. The court sent them to judicial custody till May 6.
The couple was arrested from their home after giving a call for reciting Hanuman Chalisa outside Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s private residence.
The court allowed their release on a bond of Rs 50,000. Their lawyers sought their release on provisional cash bail for two weeks till the surety can be arranged.
