Gurugram administration cancels permission for open Namaz at 8 sites

New Delhi, Nov 3: Administration of the Cybercity, Gurugram on Wednesday, withdrew permission to offer open namaz at eight out of the 37 designated sites. The admin has passed order in this connection after a complaint was lodged by some locals along with a civic body under the aegis of Residents’ Welfare Association(RWA). At the same time, a committee has been constituted to identify locations where namaz can be offered with consent of the local residents. "Consent from the administration is necessary for namaz in any public and open place," the official order said. "If local people have objections regarding other places also, granted permission will be withdrawn in view of public interst to offer namaz there too," the order added. An official statement released by the district administration observes that the permission for namaz was rescinded after some local residents and Residents' Welfare Associations (RWA) raised a series of objections.
