Khordha, Aug 7: A flag march by armed foreces was conducted in the Ostapur-Kotapalla area under Baghamari police station in Khordha district on Thursday, following a clash over village boundary line.
As per reports, the conflict escalated into violence, leading to destruction a number of shops located in the disputed area.
At least two individuals reportedly sustained injuries in the violence who were rushed for treatment to the hospital.
On being informed, armed police rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control. Later, two platoons of police forces were deployed in the area to look into further escalation.
Anticipating further outrage, Tehsildar, Sub-Collector, and SDPO, visited the region, took stock of the situation and appealed locals to keep peace.
Later, discussions were held with the Kotapalla villagers to vacate road who took to the street out of anger.
On the other hand, the administration held an amicable discussion with both the sides who agreed on the resolution.
