In a magnificent display of devotion and tradition, the representative deities- Madan Mohan, Bhudevi, and Sridevi were taken in a beautifully decorated palanquin, accompanied by Lord Ramakrishna. The grand procession was marked by traditional instruments like cymbals and drums, vibrant kirtanas, performances of badikhela, banati, and naga medha.
The colorful procession moved through the Brahmagiri market area, making its way to the Chandan Chakada. There, the ritual continued near the Chapa Pushkarini, where the deity was ceremonially placed in a traditional boat named Nanda-Bhadra by the temple priests. After being seated, the Lord symbolically played three rounds of Chapa Khela, after which He was taken to the Chandan Mandap.
Once in the pavilion, the Lord was given a refreshing sandalwood coating and offered a special local delicacy called Manda Pitha. Later, around 1:30 am, the deities participated in the 21-round Chapa Khela before returning to the temple.
The evening also featured vibrant cultural programs that added to the festive atmosphere and spiritual energy of the Chandan Chakada, marking a grand finale to this deeply rooted and widely celebrated ritual in Odisha’s religious calendar.
