Bhubaneswar: The State Government will provide input subsidy of Rs 13,500 per hectare for irrigated land and Rs 6,800 per non-irrigated land to cyclone Titli-hit farmers.
The compensation will be provided to the farmers on the basis of report submitted by Agriculture department and Collectors of different districts ravaged by cyclone Titli and subsequent flood, informed Joint Relief Commissioner Prabhat Ranjan Mohapatra.
Meanwhile, the State Government on Thursday asked the Centre to release an interim assistance of Rs 1,000 crore for relief-and-restoration work in 17 districts. The Government said last week’s Cyclone Titli and the subsequent flood caused a loss of about Rs 2,765 crore and affected 60.11 lakh people.
The natural calamities had claimed 57 lives in the State.
Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada districts were the worst sufferers due to the natural calamities.
