Bhubaneswar, Mar 20: The state exchequer earns more than Rs 230 crore revenue from the sand mining during last five years.
Revenue Minister Sudam Marndi said a total amount of Rs 230. 63 crore was collected towards revenue against mining 24,67,3134 cubic metre of sand from rivers throughout the state.
Cuttack district has shared the highest contribution up to the tune of Rs 48 crore during 2015 – 2020 period. Similarly, Jajpur ranks second collecting Rs 18.33 crore in five years, followed by Mayurbhanj- Rs.16.581 crore and Sundargarh- Rs 13.90 crore, said Marndi.
