Bhubaneswar: The State remembered Mahatma Gandhi on his 71st death anniversary today Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik leading the State in paying homage to the Father of the Nation.
Governor Lal, CM Patnaik and Assembly Speaker Pradip Amat paid floral tributes at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in the premises of State Assembly.
Remembering Gandhi, Governor posted in his official page, “Hon’ble Governor paid floral tribute to #MahatmaGandhi on his 71st death anniversary in the premises of Odisha Legislative Assembly. He also paid homage to the countless freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our independence on #MartyrsDay.”
“Humble tribute to #MahatmaGandhi – the apostle of peace and non violence – on his death anniversary. This day crowns the collective sacrifices of Martyrs & we salute the great souls whom we owe our freedom to,” tweeted Chief Minister Patnaik.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan too paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation.
“Tribute to Bapu on his death anniversary. His teachings of truth and non-violence continue to guide and inspire us and millions around the world. #MahatmaGandhi,” tweeted Pradhan.
