Bhubaneswar: The very severe cyclone ‘Titli’ made landfall near Palasa between 4.30 am and 5.30 am today i.e on October 11 (Thursday) near Palasa in Andhra Pradesh, causing a wind blow of 102 km per hour (KMPH) at Gopalpur coast in Ganjam district.
The landfall process was still continuing, according to a Met office release. “The very severe cyclone Titli made landfall near Palasa to the southwest of Gopalpur with estimated maximum wind speed of 140-150 KMPH gusting to 165 KMPH between 4.30 am and 5.30 am on October 11. Landfall process will continue for next two-three hours,” informed an official release.
Gopalpur reported 102 KMPH surface wind speed at 5.30 am, informed the release.
