New Delhi, July 24: Gold prices witnessed a sharp decline of ₹1,400 on Thursday, settling at ₹99,620 per 10 grams in the national capital. The drop was attributed to profit-booking by stockists and weak cues from global markets, as reported by the All India Sarafa Association.
On Wednesday, gold of 99.9% purity had closed at ₹1,01,020 per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, gold of 99.5% purity also saw a significant fall, dropping ₹1,200 to reach ₹99,250 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes), compared to the previous close of ₹1,00,450.
Silver prices also took a hit, plunging ₹3,000 on the same day amid the overall downtrend in the bullion market.
