Bhubaneswar, July 3: At least six girl students of the BJB College in Bhubaneswar left the hostel on Sunday following the suicide of an inmate. Sources said that Ruchika Mohanty, a student of +3 first-year (Arts) committed suicide in the hostel room on Friday. Her purported suicidal note revealed that she took the extreme decision after some senior boarders allegedly tortured her mentally. Following this, a number of students left the hostels this morning. Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation into the incident. The police officials led by an ACP quizzed the hostel Warden, Superintendent, and the College Principal to know the reason behind the girl’s suicide.
